Test Results

Please be aware that we can only provide test results to the patient personally or to the parents of minors where appropriate. Do avoid contacting the surgery for results during the morning peak periods and call after 12:00.

To protect your confidentiality, the results may only be given to you personally or to the parents of minors where appropriate.

You can access this yourself if you have signed up for Patient Access

Blood Tests

You can have your blood test done at the practice Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  Available by appointment ONLY

If your doctor wishes you to have a blood test done you will be given a test request form, which you should take with you to the Pathology Lab at either St Helier or Sutton Hospital.  Appointments are booked online www.epsom-sthelier.nhs.uk/blood-tests

Blood Tests are also available at the Cheam Resource Centre, 671 London Rd, North Cheam, Sutton SM3 9DL, every Monday and Friday, 08:30 – 12:00.

If it is for a ‘fasting’ blood test, then you should have nothing to eat and only water to drink for 14 hours before your test. Results are sent from the laboratory to the surgery after a few days. Please ring in after 14:00 to ask for your doctor’s comment.

Urine and Other Specimens

You should collect a sterile bottle from reception for your specimen. This should be clearly labelled with your name, date of birth and date of specimen.

Place the bottle in the plastic bag with the test request form which you will have been given. For your convenience, we have a hospital courier service to collect such specimens, but you should ensure you bring it to the Cheam GP Centre before noon ready for the daily collection. We are unable to store specimens overnight. You can, of course, deliver the specimen directly to the Pathology Lab yourself during their opening hours.
